About Role/Job Purpose:

To assist in planning, budgeting, execution and contractor management of capital projects and improvement initiatives within AkzoNobel Pakistan and coordinate effectively with internal and external interfaces in order to ensure compliance to the company’s objectives.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining active communication with the Maintenance Manager for day to day direction and overall strategic alignment of goals.
  • Proper designing and requirement gathering of projects including collating input from all the relevant stakeholders
  • Getting Bill of Quantities (BOQs) and cost estimations generated
  • Planning the execution of the job with input from the relevant authorities and stakeholders
  • Ensuring that the deadlines and quality parameters for the projects are met as per the plans
  • Ensuring compliance to financial controls of the organization
  • Engaging appropriate contractors and managing their performance and work according to the guidelines of the company.
  • Ensuring safe execution of work through active involvement in the projects and ensuring compliance to HSE standards and procedures of the company
  • Carrying out modification reviews of the project and completing the actions arisen, in a timely manner.
  • Verification of jobs according to the requirements laid down by the organization.
  • Coordinate effectively with the stakeholders to ensure jobs are acceptable by the relevant responsible managers.
  • Ensuring that the projects are managed within the planned and allocated budgets.
  • Ensuring that the code of conduct of the company in all the dealings is complied with properly.

Requirements :

  1. Bachelor Civil Engineering degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical/Electronics
  2. 1-3 years of hands on experience in managing projects as project engineer or higher in FMCG petrochemical, fertilizer, oil & gas or large manufacturing plant / industrial concern
  3. Must be experienced in contractor management and have proven track record of working on health, safety and environment (HSE) management systems
  4. Knowledge and application skills on relevant international codes and standards related to relevant discipline of engineering.
  5. Awareness and practical exposure to management of engineering changes and projects. Must have managed some projects from conceptual design to commissioning and handover.
  6. Demonstrable skills on planning, scheduling, budgeting, proposals development, tender, change management and contracts development and administration.
