Qualification

• Master’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Sciences, Environmental Management, or related field

Experience

• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience in developing environmental management plans, social safeguards, and/or conducting environmental assessments, in public sector, private sector and/or donor funded projects is required.

Job Responsibilities

• Monitor compliance of environmental due diligence requirements and mitigation measures under Environment and Social Safeguard Standards, Core Principles and local/provincial regulatory framework. . Ensure compliance and implementation of activities required under ESCP and ESSA. Develop environmental and social (E&S) screening mechanism for all TA activities and review the Terms of Reference to ensure inclusion and streamlining of E&S aspects as part of activity design. Develop and adopt site selection criteria along with the site alternative analysis assessment, that include environmental and social considerations Conduct assessment and studies and prepare appropriate Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and guidelines for addressing E&S aspects of the Program. Prepare and implement Environmental and Social Compliance Framework (ESCF) Ensure the project compliance in accordance with guidelines and standards established by National Reference Manual on Planning and Infrastructure Standards (NRMPIS) for housing, road network, connectivity with the main road and existing infrastructure networks, and designing of utilities and other land uses
